Donate Cans to Pay a Parking Ticket!

The Cans for Citation Food Drive Supports the Red Hawk Pantry!

This program allows Montclair State University students, faculty and staff to donate canned/non-perishable goods as payment for campus citations. Each canned, non-perishable item, dry good and personal hygiene item will be worth $10.00 toward one open citation. For example, a citation worth $50.00 may be paid using five (5) canned or dry goods items!

The Details

The program runs Monday, November 18 through Wednesday, November 22.

When & Where to Bring:

Please bring any donations Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. to the Montclair campus Parking office located on Level 1 of the Red Hawk Deck.

Tabling Events:

  • Monday, November 18, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m., Montclair campus, Student Center, 2nd Floor Lobby
  • Tuesday, November 19, 12-3 p.m., Bloomfield campus, Parking Office, 229 Liberty Street
  • Wednesday, November 20, 12-3 p.m. Montclair campus, Red Hawk Pantry
  • Thursday, November 21, 12-3 p.m., Montclair campus, Student Center, 2nd Floor Lobby
  • Friday, November 22, 12-3p.m., Montclair campus, Student Center ,2nd Floor Lobby

BONUS:

Get two (2) citations removed on of the above tabling dates!

The following citations may not be dismissed for this program:

  • Tampering with University Equipment
  • Shared Permit or Boot Violation
  • Parking in Reserved Space, Grass, or Sidewalk
  • Parked in Fire Lane or PWD Space Violation

What To Donate?

Non-perishable foods, healthy items, such as whole grains, low-sugar cereals and low-sodium canned goods and personal hygiene products are welcome!

Most Needed Items

Personal Hygiene

  • Toothpaste and toothbrushes
  • Shampoo and conditioner
  • Body wash or soap bars
  • Deodorant (variety of options for different preferences)
  • Shaving cream
  • Razors (unisex)
  • Feminine hygiene products (sanitary pads, tampons, panty liners)
  • Baby wipes
  • Hand sanitizer (small bottles for individual use)
  • Moisturizer (face and body lotions)
  • Sunscreen
  • Lip balm
  • Cotton swabs and cotton balls/pads

Cleaning Supplies

  • Laundry detergent (preferably pods for ease of use)
  • Dish soap
  • Dryer sheets
  • Multipurpose wipes or cleaning spray
  • Paper Products
  • Toilet paper
  • Tissues
  • Paper towels

Food Items

  • Boxed cereal
  • Bags of chips/snacks
  • Peanut butter and jelly
  • Granola bars and cereal bars
  • Mac N Cheese (both boxed and microwavable)
  • Popcorn
  • Applesauce / fruit cups
  • Mayo, ketchup, mustard, salad dressings
  • Spaghetti noodles, rotini, egg noodles, linguine (any pasta type)
  • Canned goods like chili, beef stew, ravioli
  • Can openers (to accompany canned goods)

Please do NOT bring anything past its expiration date, dented, rusty, leaky or unlabeled cans, glass jars or open packages
